Waiting...

Sammy has preschool on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. We pick him up at 3:20 and then drive to Gracie's bus stop and wait for the bus to come which lately has been around 4-4:15-ish. But that doesn't mean we are bored. Sammy and Benson spend the time teasing me until we are all giggling. Love their smiles!

You've had a birthday shout hooray!

I know everyone says this, but it is true that the last year has flown by and I can't believe my baby is one now.

He liked looking at his cake with the candle on it and loved having everyone sing to him on his special day.

He picked all of the M&M's off of his cake and then promptly threw it on the floor.

He loves to play outside and loves going to the park, especially swinging. He laughs every time I put him into a swing.

At one year old Brigham Duke can take about 8 steps at one time, but still prefers to crawl. He can push his truck around and walk behind it. He doesn't sleep through the night, but I am actually happy about that. I think it makes me feel like he is growing up slower, even though I know it isn't true. He says mama, dada, baba, nana, ah ha, he spits, waves, claps, and basically is the cutest little man in the world. He climbs the stairs and waves his hand for me to follow him. It is the sweetest thing ever, like he knows I will always follow him or something. He is always content as long as I am holding him and he is also happy to play with his brothers and sister. He follows them into trouble whenever he can. I love when he falls asleep in his car seat and I pick him up and he nuzzles his face into my neck. Mom's really do have the best job when they can be adored by a little baby as sweet as mine is. I love him so much!

Sammy's first day of school

Sammy recently started preschool. He goes to school in this big beautiful stone church. He pretty much loves it. He loves that he gets to "play on the playground with the stones" and that he gets to bring his own snack in his own lunchbox on Fridays. He is making some new friends although so far he can't remember anyone's names.

This is his second day of school, but really his first official day because the first day was an open house and we could only stay for a few minutes so that David could see the school. If you make the picture big you can see that he is standing next to his own self portrait. He drew himself next to a monster (I am sure a phsycologist would think there was some meaning behind that, but I don't know what it would be). Anyway, he is getting so big and is always joking and making funny faces. I think he is super cute.

Giant Bubbles

I saw a recipe for giant bubbles on my friends blog (thanks Jamey) and thought it looked like a fun activity to do with Sammy and Benson today while Brigham took a nap and Gracie was at school. After getting things tweaked just right it turned into lots of fun!

The World’s Best Bubbles
1 1/2 quarts of water
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 cup liquid dish soap
Mix water and corn syrup until completely blended. Slowly stir in soap.
Will last several weeks in an airtight container.
